Box Office: Is it Ajay Devgan vs Kartik Aryan again on Gandhi Jayanti 2026? Anurag Basu’s musical clash with Drishyam 3

T-Series Films has set the release date of Gandhi Jayanti 2026 for its upcoming musical romance, T-178. This slot was previously booked by Ajay Devgan for his much-awaited family thriller, Drishyam 3. Sources close to Vikas have revealed that the T-178 musical romance is none other than Kartik Aryan and Anurag Basu’s first collaboration, Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. If reports are to be believed, another clash will be seen between Kartik Aryan and Ajay Devgan on Gandhi Jayanti 2026.

The box office clash was never fruitful; They affect all parties involved, regardless of magnitude. Earlier, the two had faced each other during Diwali 2024, when Kartik Aryan’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Ajay Devgan’s Singham Again were up against each other.

During their confrontation, things were not so civil as both sides were aggressively demanding more screens and shows, leading to negativity and nasty PR on social media. Furthermore, both the films saw a tough fight at the box office, with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 winning by a slight margin. For the record, Kartik Aaryan’s film has collected Rs. Earned Rs 247 crore, while Ajay Devgan’s action film earned Rs 247 crore. 240 crores.

At a time when the film industry is already struggling on the business front, the giants should think beyond this and try to revive the market by coming together and supporting each other, rather than clashing with each other and eating up each other’s market. If Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again had not clashed with each other, it would have probably collected 20 to 30 percent more.

Be it Drishyam 3 or Tu Meri Zindagi Hai, both the films are going to be one of the biggest releases of next year. Both the films should get equal opportunity to draw the audience to the theatres. A collision where the screens split is not very feasible. Instead, they should avoid such battles at the box office and plan the release calendar wisely; This can revive lost business in the long run.
