Project Hail Mary, based on Andy Weir’s novel, will hit Indian theaters in 2026, starring Ryan Gosling as a lone astronaut on a mission to save the Earth. The film will be screened in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

If space thrillers, existential dramas and Ryan Gosling in a spacesuit sound like your kind of cinema, mark your calendars – ‘Project Hail Mary’ is coming. The highly anticipated sci-fi adventure is set to release in India on March 20, 2026, and will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, with screenings in IMAX and other premium formats. The rollout is part of a global distribution partnership between Amazon, MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Based on the best-selling novel by Andy Weir, ‘Project Hail Mary’ stars Gosling as Ryland Grace – an astronaut who wakes up in a deserted spaceship with no memory of who he is or why he’s there. Gradually, he realizes that he is humanity’s last hope in stopping a cosmic threat that could extinguish the sun. The trailer also gives audiences the first glimpse of Rocky – an unexpected alien ally who becomes central to the mission.

The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, producers of ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and ‘The Lego Movie’, with a screenplay by Drew Goddard. As Grace begins to piece together her memories, the narrative becomes a captivating partnership, human and supernatural, based on scientific problem-solving, patience, and unlikely friendship.
