Priyanka Chopra shares exclusive glimpses from behind the scenes of the grand ‘Varanasi’ event in Hyderabad. The ceremony featured a dramatic title reveal of SSMB29, featuring performances and heartfelt moments that enthralled the audience.
Days after the mega Varanasi event at Ramoji Studios in Hyderabad, Priyanka Chopra shared unseen footage of what happened behind the scenes and the preparations for the huge celebration of SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s upcoming collaboration. The video included clips of Priyanka practicing Telugu and rehearsing for her moment on stage.
That night, the official title of Rajamouli’s much-awaited SSMB29 was revealed, bringing Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran to the stage. Sharing a collection of behind-the-scenes moments and highlights from the event, Priyanka captioned her post, “Through my eyes #VaranasiLaunch.”

Titled ‘Varanasi’, the teaser sets an epic tone, featuring Mahesh Babu in a striking avatar – brandishing a trident and riding a bull – hinting at a mythological and larger-than-life tale.
On stage, Mahesh Babu made a dramatic entry on a mechanical bull, while Priyanka greeted the audience in fluent Telugu. She addressed Mahesh Babu’s huge fan base, saying, “What do you call him Sher? But I call him the incredible, great Mahesh Babu,” before joining the crowd chanting his name.
Priyanka was seen in a traditional white lehenga with gold jewellery, while Mahesh Babu chose a fawn blazer with a white deep-neck shirt and matching trousers.
The event saw the presence of prominent colleagues and industry names including SS Rajamouli, Bhushan Kumar, Namrata Shirodkar, Prithviraj Sukumaran with his wife Supriya Menon, Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani and acclaimed writer KV Vijayendra Prasad.
Making the evening spectacular was Shruti Haasan who performed live on stage. His latest single, ‘Globetrotter’, composed by MM Keeravani, was released recently.
