After The Girlfriend, Dixit Shetty is leading the heist film Bank of Bhagyalakshmi

After the mostly positive reception of Rahul Ravindran’s ‘The Girlfriend’ starring Rashmika Mandanna, Dhikshit Shetty, who played the villain, is returning to Kannada cinema with ‘Bank of Bhagyalakshmi’. The trailer of the comedy heist film directed by Abhishek M was released on November 15 and is gaining popularity due to its uniqueness. This film is going to be released in theaters on November 21.

The three-minute trailer begins with the line, “In the history of heists, this was an unthinkable thing,” setting expectations for a big brain teaser, only to take a different path towards becoming a comedy of errors, stupidity, and romance – at least, that’s how it feels until the trailer picks up. With a descriptive line that reads, “When the system is the thief, robbery becomes justice,” the trailer hints towards a story of hilarious rebels out to seek justice.

With a story written and directed by debutant Abhishek M, the film stars Dhekshit Shetty along with Brinda Acharya, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Sadhu Kokila, Shruti Hariharan and many other well-known faces. HK Prakash Gowda, who has previously produced big hits like ‘Rangeetaranga’ and ‘Avane Srimannarayana’, has produced the film under the banner of Sridevi Entertainers. With music by Judah Sandy and cinematography by Abhishek G Kasaragod, the trailer promises a fun time in theatres.

Based on what the team said during the trailer launch, the three-minute scene only reveals 5% of what’s actually in the film. It expands on what they hinted at in the teaser – a group of thieves attempt a robbery and its aftermath. What was supposed to be their last robbery turns into something that could be their last mortal experience.

Dixit Shetty, who rose to fame with her acting in Kannada film ‘Diya’ and Telugu film ‘Dasara’, is in contention as a promising upcoming actor in Kannada and Telugu cine fields. Her recent accolades from films like ‘Blink’ and ‘The Girlfriend’ support her potential as a future star. With projects like ‘Sheegramaev Kalyana Prattirastu’ and ‘Strawberry’ in Kannada, ‘KJQ’ in Telugu and ‘Oppis’ in Malayalam coming after ‘Bank of Bhagyalakshmi’, it will be interesting to see how the audience receives his films in theatres.
