Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest action-packed thriller, One Battle After Another, is finally available to stream in India after a strong global theatrical performance. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film earned widespread praise for its intense story, large-scale action, and powerful performances. Now, Indian viewers can watch the film from home as it has arrived on Prime Video for digital rental.
Back to Back Fight is now streaming on Prime Video in India
The action thriller is now available to rent on Prime Video for Rs 499, giving fans access to the Hollywood blockbuster just weeks after its theatrical release. The film crossed the US$200 million mark at the worldwide box office soon after its digital release, becoming the highest-grossing film of Paul Thomas Anderson’s career.
Despite its global earnings, the high production costs, estimated between USD 130 million and USD 175 million according to the Economic Times, and heavy marketing spend made it one of the major box-office disappointments of 2025. However, there has been strong interest in the film due to DiCaprio’s performance and Anderson’s direction.
Story, cast and what makes the film different
One Battle After Another is loosely adapted from Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vinland. Anderson keeps the core themes of activism, family conflict, and political tension but adds new characters and a new plot to give the film a contemporary feel. The film is also visually appealing, as Anderson chose to shoot with the classic VistaVision large-format technology, a rare choice in today’s filmmaking.
The story follows Bob Ferguson, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, a former revolutionary trying to live a quiet life with his teenage daughter Willa, played by rising actor Chase Infiniti. Their peace is disrupted when Bob’s old rival, Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw, played by Sean Penn, returns after 16 years. When Willa soon goes missing, Bob is forced to confront the past he tried to escape. Teyana Taylor plays Bob’s partner Perfidia Beverly Hills, whose history with Lockjaw plays a key role in the conflict.
The film was released in theaters on September 26, 2025, and received strong critical reviews for its action sequences and the performances of DiCaprio, Penn, and Chase Infinity. Indian audiences who missed out on theatres, can now watch the film through rental exclusively on Prime Video.
