Shahrukh launches first property in his name: My mother would have been proud
Shahrukh Khan launches first property in his name. Choreographer Farah Khan was also with her in this grand event.

Shah Rukh Khan on Friday attended a mega event in Mumbai to unveil the first property in his name. The Dubai-based property, Shahrukh’s Danube, is a 56-storey tower with approximately 450 sq ft of premium office space.
He said in the programme, “My mother would have been very happy. This is a huge honour. When my children come, I will tell them – ‘Papa ka naam likha hai, papa ki building hai.’ Rizwan Sajan, Founder and Chairman of Danube also attended the event.
What’s more, as you would expect from a Shah Rukh Khan evening, there was no dearth of entertainment at the event. The superstar enthralled the guests with his trademark wit, and also brought a vibrant glimpse of Bollywood magic through recreations of iconic moments from ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Don’.
Shahrukh said, “I don’t consider myself important enough to have anything else in my name apart from my films. Films are part of my profession and worship.” To this Farah Khan, who was also a guest, said: “Shah Rukh has given his name to four people: Gauri, Aryan, Suhana and Abram.”
Of course, the classic SRK wit kept coming. He said that he has become “the moon of Eid (the moon of the holy festival of Islam)… I am rarely seen but when I am seen, it is amazing.”
In another light-hearted moment, Shahrukh told the audience that Rizwan wanted to have a viral moment with him. The actor then taught her the signature open-arm romantic pose from his films. She also taught him the don walk and his iconic ‘Om Shanti Om’ dialogue: “Itni shiddat se main tumhe paan ki tryya kiya hai” (I have desired you with great devotion and passion).”
Talking about his association with Danube Property, Shahrukh said, “I have never found myself in this situation. But Rizwan Bhai told me about his wife, who was quite unwell, and Insha Allah (by God’s mercy) she will soon recover. It touched my heart. From what Adil explained, the first time I agreed with the idea. His team had a simple idea: Many people come to big cities to build their homes. Their dream To build a business and a home. If I can be a part of it and an inspiration, that would be the greatest gift to me.”
Notable amenities at Shahrukh’s Danube include a helipad and a swimming pool. The project is expected to be completed within three to four years, and will have a statue of the actor at its entrance for visitors to photograph. Danube plans to expand this tower concept to other cities as well.
Shah Rukh will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s ‘King’, which stars Deepika Padukone, her actor-daughter Suhana Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Abhay Verma, Abhishek Bachchan and others in important roles.
The actor’s home company, Red Chillies Entertainment, recently backed the Netflix series ‘The Ba**ads of Bollywood’, the directorial debut of his son Aryan Khan.
