Musician Devi Sri Prasad, who gave chart-topping hits like ‘Srivalli’ and ‘Peelings’ to Rashmika Mandanna, has praised the actor for her latest performance in ‘The Girlfriend’. He praised the actor’s emotional depth and versatility, calling his performance “National Award-worthy”.

Sharing the note on Instagram, the ‘Pushpa’ composer wrote, “The Girlfriend – a film I’ve been cheering for with all my heart in recent times!! Wow! Rashmika you are not just a ‘National Crush’. You deserve a ‘National Award’ for ‘The Girlfriend’.” (Thus)

Talking about her versatility he said, “After enthralling us with such versatile performances in films like ‘Pushpa’, ‘Animal’, ‘Chaava’ and ‘Kuber’, how do you bring back that innocence so effortlessly? The depth in each expression is mind-blowing. I know how – because you’ve lived it now.” (Thus)

Devi Sri Prasad also praised the film’s team, writing, “Rahul sir, how were you able to handle such a sensitive film so brilliantly? Congratulations to you! And to the makers of Geeta Arts for giving us this beautiful emotion.” He praised co-stars Dixit Shetty and Anu Emmanuel, calling their performances “brilliant” and “extremely mature” respectively.

Directed by Rahul Raveendran, ‘The Girlfriend’, starring Rashmika Mandanna, Dixit Shetty and Anu Emmanuel, is steadily gaining momentum at the box office after a slow start. The romantic drama has reportedly crossed the Rs 8 crore mark in five days due to strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews. Adding to the celebrations, Vijay Deverakonda is attending the success of the film in Hyderabad on November 11.
