Magastar Mammooty of Malayalam cinema is finally returning to the film set after staying away from public eyes for eight long months. Now that the actor has returned from medical treatment, he is expected to attend the shooting of Patriot starting from October 1, 2025.

For those unfamiliar people, Mammooty had been away from filming for the last 8 months due to his health concerns. The actor was allegedly undergoing treatment for cancer and is now completely cured.
According to a report by Onamnorama, director Mahesh Narayanan confirmed that the filming for Patriot would start again with Mammooty from 1 October 2025. The director also shared that the mammooty was actively involved in the production process, despite being physically absent from the shoot.
Mahesh said, “I will visit his house to show him editing. He was completely part of this process, even if he is not at the place.” Meanwhile, the team continued the scenes involving other actors to ensure smooth progress in production.

Mamut’s next film
Mammuti was last seen in a prominent role in the thriller Bazuka directed by Dino Dennis. The film, which co-contemplated Gautham Vasudev Menon, released on April 10, 2025, but received a low reaction at the box office.
Subsequently, the actor recently started a voice in the blockbuster Loca: Chapter 1, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan.
Further, Mammooty will appear in the lead role in an action crime thriller Kalakamwal, with megastar to portray a negative character.
