Dominic arun interview

1. Your first film, Tharangam, was a story that insisted on innovation in the story tell. Coming to Loca, you have carved an entire universe from the folklore of Kerala. How did this happen to scratch?

Ans. I have never deliberately chosen to follow a specific style. I am a kind of filmmaker that I want to make something really. These stories naturally come to me on the basis of my personal experiences.

This is Tharangam or Loka, I have never thought, ‘I want to do something purposefully.’ I just want to tell my stories in this way. I have never studied screenplay writing, nor have I read a lot of stories, but I just wanted to narrate one.

2. Adopting the essence of fantasy and combining it with realism is a lot of achievement from a writing point of view. How do you imagine the future of the characters offered in Loca?

Ans. Every character that came to Loca: Chapter 1 – Moon has a specific purpose. Even for the lunar, there is a major purpose in the universe. She is not just limited to this film, and she will remain an important character to move forward.

So far, we have given only a small glimpse of it, but in the big picture, there is a lot to contribute to all these characters. Even the cameo has backster; We have not only included them for this, but I can’t tell much information about it yet.

3. From a technical point of view, Loka stands as an ideal example of how technology can be used to create stunning views. It is being said, how did you achieve it with a budget of Rs 30 crore?

Ans. For about 1.5 to 2 years, we dedicated time for pre-production work. During that phase, we identified where we have to spend more and where we can be more constrained.

From the beginning, our team had a detailed discussion. Everything was well employed, and as a result, our idea process was to use technology to the best extent. I believe that it became possible to achieve this quality on our budget due to the time for prep work.

4. We already know that Loca: Chapter 1 is just the tip of the iceberg. As the sequel has been postponed to be with Tovino Thomas’s Chaithan character, will this be a story?

Ans. When the film ends, we say that ‘The Chaitans will come,’ and the second installment will be a single venture as a lead with Tovino Thomas. While we will focus on the story of Chaithan, there is a big purpose behind everything.

The entire cinematic universe is a leading conclusion for a certain conclusion, and the sequel film about The Chaithan will find out more about it, working as the next step for.

5. Now, Loca was released in theaters for Onam and there was a box office clash at the box office with Mohanlal’s Hridaypurvam. What do you think on that scenario?

Ans. I never believed that there is not a type of competition. When we decided to release the film in theaters during ONAM, we only saw it as a time when many people come together to watch a film in theaters.

For every film released, there is a place to flourish for it; This is what I and the production team believed. I think there was some magic for us that attracted attention to everyone.

6. So far, many people know that Mamooty has played the role of Mothon. How did he say yes to the role, and how did you integrate such a superstar in the universe?

Ans. When we initially started discussing the story, we already knew that there would be a character like Mothon. When we were discussing this with Dalkar Salman, we expressed our desire that Mmmuka could play a role.

Just before the shoot started, Mmmukka asked us to tell the story. We went to him, told him, and finally told him that we want him as Mothon. He said, ‘You guys finish your work first, we will think about it.’

After shooting, both DQ and Mammukka saw the first cut and liked it. When we again asked Mammukka to play the role, and he agreed to dub for the character.

I believe that Mammooty Sir still needs to be convinced if he continues to play Mothon in future films.

,

Ans. Yes, in upcoming films. Not the next one, but under the line, we will see him in his full capacity. The mothon is like a major character in the universe, and like everyone, I also hope that it will be with Mathukka.
