Homebound: Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khat and Vishal’s film get the global release date
After appreciation and standing at various international film festivals, Karan Johar’s ‘Homebound’ has been prescribed for a dramatic release. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor, Vishal Jethwa and Ishaan Khatar in lead roles.
The ‘Homebound’, directed by the National Award winning filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan and directed by Ishan Khatar, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, is set on 26 September, 2025 for a global dramatic release.
Producer Karan Johar’s production house, Dharma Productions announced the release date, saying, “No feeling is the final.

Inspired by 2020 new York Times Basharat Peer’s article, ‘Homebound’ follows two childhood friends of Northern India who dream of becoming a police officer to improve their lives. As they prepare for the National Police Examination, their friendship is tested by increasing pressures and social expectations. The screenplay is a cooperation between Bashrat Peer, Neeraj Ghaywan and Sumit Roy, with dialogues by Neeraj Ghaywan, Varun Grover and Neeraj Dubey.
At his world premiere in Cannes, ‘Homebound’ received a rare nine -minute standing ovation, and later in the TIFF, where the audience responded enthusiastically. The film has been praised for its emotional story and performance of lead actors, especially Ishan Khatar and Vishal Jethwa.
Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorscie joined the ‘Homebound’ as an executive producer, lending more reputation for the project. In a conversation Bollywood hungryThe Scorscs commented, “I have seen Neeraj’s first film ‘Masaan’ in 2015, and I like it very much, so when Melita Toscan du Plantar sent me the project for his second film, I was eager. Under the Dharma Productions by Karan Johar, Other Poonwal, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, the film benefited from Mattership by Scorsce during its development. After the dramatic release worldwide, ‘Homebound’ is scheduled to stream on Netflix. French distribution rights have been secured by advertising Witam, known for releasing Oscar winning international films.
