‘Kanta: Chapter 1’, directed and written by Rish Shetty, is a prequel for the 2022 film ‘Kanta’ acclaimed by critics. The film stars Rish Shetty, Rukmini Vasant, Sapthami Gowda and Gulshan Devayah, and is produced by Vijay Kirgandur under the Homebell Films banner. The story continues to find out the subjects of folk songs, faith and identity through its developed music and storytelling.
The film is scheduled for a global release on October 2, 2025 and will be available in many languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali and English.
