Vafarr Films, Loca Chapter One-Chandra crossed the global box office, the Kirti Suresh starrer Mahanati. The film grossed over Rs 93 crore in just 6 days and separated Nag Ashwin from the top position.
For Bin calling, the 2018 biography drama, Mahanati, earned more than Rs 84.50 crore during his entire run and became a huge blockbuster. It now rests second.
Anushka Shetty dominates the top-grossing female-elevated films in the south
Interestingly, the top three of the top-grossing female-lodged South Indian films belong to one actress- Anushka Shetty. Her 2015 film Rudrama Devi is currently the third largest-grossing female-native film, with a global collection of Rs 82 crore. It set an all -time record during its release.
In fourth place, Shetty’s 2009 film Arundhati rests with Rs 68.50 crore worldwide, which was also an all -time record in the history of Telugu cinema. And the fifth place is also from Anushka Shetty’s 2018 film Bhagamathy, which was a scary thriller. Later, remake in Hindi as Durgamati, Anushka Shetty starrer collected Rs 64 crore in her entire run.
