WhatsApp is on a race when it comes to bringing new facilities in the messaging app. The meta-owned platform has recently been adding social elements, making it easier for users to communicate with their close ones.

According to WABETAINFO, the latest beta for iOS adds a close friend in my position screen. Users must first add their close ones to this list. Once the list is made, users can only choose to share any situation updates to their close friends at the time of uploading.

Instagram, Whatsapp’s sister platform, has pioneered a close friend list, and user users actively use this feature when sharing stories on the social media app. It seems that the messaging app is now looking to borrow this facility.

The status update shared with close friends will only be available for selected contacts. According to the report, these condition updates will be separated from the general update for all contacts, similar to Instagram, for all contacts.

However, the status update will not appear for a contact that was added to close friends after being uploaded. The app will only show updates to those who were in the list at the time of upload.

If the user wants the update to appear in a new contact, they will have to load it again after adding them.

WhatsApp Close Friends maintains privacy with features

Similar to Instagram, no contact will be reported when connected or removed with user close friends. This will allow users to keep privacy in the list and avoid any strange moment.

WhatsApp had a specialty to share status updates with already selected contacts. However, such updates were no different from regular updates. The list of close friends will be visually differentiated. This makes users a more intimate place to share their stories.

As the normal condition occurs with updates, a close friend will last for 24 hours.

Meta -owned platform has recently brought a tonnes of new features. The latest update adds an AI writing tool that allows users to increase their texts before sending someone. AI can also change the tone of the message as per the requirement.

Additionally, the app is also testing a new feature that gives an option to send a message that disappears only 1 hour after sending.
