According to the company’s co-founder Akis Evezelidis, nothing has landed in warm water due to an oversight. What happened here: In-Store Demo Units of the Nathing Phone (3) had a pre-loaded sample image with a note “Judge for Urself. What our community has captured with the phone (3) here.” A small problem – those images were not captured with the phone (3). And they were not taken by community members for that case.
It quickly revealed that images in question come from the stock photo marketplace stills: a person, a full glass, round headlight, spiral ladder and a woman wearing a scarf.

Additionally, an internal investigation is being done to ensure that such a mix-up does not happen again.
Apparently, the company used photos from the phone from the phone as placeholder images. This will avoid this issue – even if they are not replaced, they will still represent the capabilities of the cameras. Evangelidis says that a new team opted to use stock images for this launch, which was a mistake.
