The trailer of Siddharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming Hindi film ‘Param Aundari’ has expressed displeasure among the Malayali audience, many material creators have claimed that their important positions are being removed on Instagram.
Singer and RJ Pavithra Menon was to exclude the depiction of the film’s film for the first time. Now in a united video, he questioned why a Malayali actor was not put for the lead role, stating, “Women in Kerala do not walk to wear jasmine flowers and dance Mohiniyam.”
Soon after, his video was taken down, in which Instagram cited a copyright claim from Madock Films. Sharing a screenshot of notice, Menon wrote, “Happy Independence Day for everyone, which has a voice.”

However, it could not stop her, and she re -uploaded the video, expressing her disappointment in playing the role of a Malayali character to a Hindi actor. “What is the problem in hiring a proper Malayali actor? Are we less talented? This is not the case in Kerala. We do not wear jasmine flowers everywhere or do mohiniam in offices and homes,” Menon said, if the filmmaker struggles with pronunciation, “just says Trivandram instead of Thiruvanant.”

Menon’s criticism has hit a raga with several Malayali creators, who have accused the film of cultural wrong Bayani. Content creator Vedangi. Ax also alleged that his video was removed after posting criticism of the trailer.

He further argued that his criticism comes under fair use, citing Section 52 of the Copyright Act. “We are allowed to express that criticism. But every Mallu manufacturer who made fun of the trailer is getting a copyright strike. This is silenting, plain and simple. You could have cast a Malayali actress or dubbed her at least. I hope we wanted to silence us.”
Disputes continue to snowball online, many Malayali users called Bollywood to introduce stereotypes and their culture incorrectly.
