Wet Los Drugs: Expert Warns against Uses for purely cosmetic reasons
Dr. Ambrish Mittal discussed the increasing trend of weight loss drugs. He observes a contradiction, where individuals who are not clinically obese, seek drugs for cosmetic reasons, such as “here and there to lose a couple of kilos for a wedding or a ceremony,” some hesitant to use them. As the cost of these drugs is low, concerns about potential misuse are increasing. Dr. Mittal explains that while these drugs are a “giant scientist advance” with diabetes, heart attacks and benefits to reduce the risk of fatty liver, they are not without possible side effects. He says that the main challenge is misuse by those who do not need them, who can give drugs a bad name and prevent patients who will really benefit.
