Ending speculation, ‘Cocktail’ director Homi Edzania confirmed actor Kriti Sanon as a female lead in ‘Cocktail 2’. The director surprised fans with photos “Work in Pragati” on social media. He further shared that the shooting will soon begin in Italy.

In his Instagram Story on Thursday, the filmmaker hid his face with “Work in Pragati in Work” Sticker. However, it was the hashtag – @Kritisanon #Thescicilianchapter #Cocktail 2, “This confirmed his role in the film.

Sanon will allegedly join the film by Rashmika Mandanna and Saif Ali Khan. ‘Cocktail 2’ is a follower of the 2012 film, starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Panty. The film marked the beginning of Panty’s acting.

A source close to the development of the film shared with India today, “Sanon has just wrapped ‘Tere Ishq Meen’, and will start shooting for ‘Cocktail 2’ in August. It is a tight program, but she is focusing all this easily and full. She is currently one of the most in-demand actors in the industry.”

It followed the story of Veronica (played by Deepika), whose best friend falls in love with her lover (starring Diana and Saif respectively).

The romantic comedy film was an important and commercial success at its release. It crossed a mark of Rs 100 crore worldwide and was considered one of the highest -grossing films of 2012. Along with this, the film also received four nominations at the 58th Filmfare Awards, including the best actress and best female debut.

Her other upcoming project is ‘Tere Ishaq Meen’, in which she will act contrary to the bow. Directed by AANAND L RAI, the film is expected to be released in theaters by the end of the year.

It has also been told in the reports that she will play the female lead in ‘Don 3’ with Ranveer Singh after Kiara Advani exiting.
