Director Pawan Kumar is known for acclaimed films like Lucia, U-Turns and Dhomam. Now, Kannada filmmaker is ready to mark its first lead role in a web series called Shodha.

Shodha has been slated to start streaming on the OTT platform, Zee5 since August 22, 2025. While the entire plot of the show has not yet come out, the series will be a suspense thriller, will unveil its trailer on August 13, 2025 at 7 pm.
Sharing the update, Zee5’s official social media handle said, “Suspense thriller Shoda, Kannada web series trailer at 7 pm tomorrow. Shoda from 22 August to Kannada Zee 5.”
Interestingly, Shodha will be the second original Kannada web series commissioned by Zee5 after the release of Ayyana Mane.

Shodha is a 6-episode-lumby web series written by Kyaabre Fame Suhas Navarathna and the Helmer of the Orchestra, Mysuru, directed by Sunil MySooru.
As Pawan Kumar plays the hero, the series stars actors Siri Ravikumar, Arun Sagar, Shawetha Prasad, Anusha Ranganath and more in lead roles. The web series has been served by Arjun Ramu as Director (DOP) of photography by Rahul Roy.
Who is Pawan Kumar?
Pawan Kumar is an actor, director and screenwriter who works mainly in Kannada cinema. Started his career as an actor in minor roles, and made his mark as a writer for the film Mansare.
In 2011, he started his direction with Dignath-starrer Black Comedy Lifeu Ishten. However, it was the 2013 psychological thriller Lucia who marked her success, receiving widespread praise.
The film, which was the first Crowdfunded project of Kannada cinema, had the story of Nikki, a cinema hall Ashra who is suffering from insomnia. After taking a special pill, he gets stuck between dreams and reality.
The film is considered a leader in the new wave of Kannada cinema and was remake in 2015 as Annakul Oruvan in Tamil.
Later, Pawan helped projects such as U-turn and even made her debut in Malayalam Cinema with Fahd Fasil’s Dhomom. Over the years, he has been part of several films with auxiliary roles and even web series such as Kudi Yedamith and Honeymoon.
