With the release of Rajinikanth’s ‘Cooli’ around the corner, the team has intensified publicity activities for much-awaited multi-storrer. While riding a high ride on the trailer buzz, actor Rajinikanth recently compared between director Lokesh Kanagaraja and SS Rajamouli.

In a video message played at the Telugu Pre-Republic event in Hyderabad, Rajinikanth said, “Lokesh Kanagarj is like Rajamouli here. All Rajamouli films are a successful, even Lokesh’s films are all hit films.” The East-Religs event followed the Grand Trailer launch held in Chennai as part of the film’s ramp-up publicity campaign.

Speaking about the role of Nagarjuna Akini, Rajinikanth revealed his own attraction with the character. “The biggest attraction in the form of Simon is Nagarjuna. After listening to the subject, I wanted to play the role of Simon. I like to play the role of a villain. Simon is very stylized. I was surprised when Nagarjuna agreed. It’s not about money, it’s not that kind of person.

Meanwhile, the trailer has launched several fan principles online, which contains speculation that the film may include science-fis and time travel elements. Reacting to this, Lokesh Kanagarj said, “Everyone is calling it a science-fi film and a time travel film. People are going to be surprised when they see what the film is really.”

The star-stasted actors of ‘Coolie’ include Nagarjuna Akineni, Pooja Hegde, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Saubin Shahir, and Satyaraj, who play the role of Daha. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on August 14, which is hitting YRF’s ‘War 2’. It is produced by Sun Pictures, which has music composed by Anirudh Ravichender.
