China’s psyche leads to Openai with a new wide research tool for large-scale multi-agent tasks

The AI race between China and the US continues. The latest China in the battle is Salvo from an AI firm Manus, who is taking a shot in Openi with her multi-agent tool.

In short

  • Manus is an AI company in China
  • Manas has come up with a tool that uses several AI agents to conduct research
  • Manas tools competes with chat and Gemini

The fastest and most competent AI agents, beating the competition, are having an intensive war in the technical world. From coding to image generation, the tech giants are constantly launching new models to showcase the abilities of their big language model (LLM). Currently, one of the most talkeded characteristics is a deep research system. Industries like Openai, Google, and XAI are focused on heavyweight AI agents that can crawl through the web for hours to provide detailed, depth reports to users. But taking a different approach, Chinese startup Monica has introduced comprehensive research equipment for her Manus AI. And it is different.

According to the company, rather than focusing on depth, the comprehensive research equipment of the psyche is designed to handle high-scale, high-virtue functions by deploying more than 100 AI agents in parallel. The company wrote in an official blog post, “We call it widely extensive research, but what it unlock is beyond research. In its core, comprehensive research is a system-level mechanism for parallel processing and is a protocol for agent-to-agent cooperation,” the company has written in an official blog post.

How extensive research works

The center of Manus’s comprehensive research tool has a special cloud-based virtual machine. This setup gives it, according to the company, “turing-perfection”, which means that it can perform almost any kind of computing work. Whether it is data analysis, research, or design, users can only chat with AI agent to achieve things.

The company states that this new system understands the natural language, so there is no need for coding or technical command. User can ask agents to do complex tasks using plain instructions. What makes this setup powerful has the ability to score computing resources as per its requirement. According to the company, this AI tool can increase computing power to 100 times more than the original offering. It makes suitable for heavy tasks that otherwise require high-end systems.

In a small demo video, Yachao ‘Peak’, co-founder and chief scientist of Manas, displayed how comprehensive research can analyze 100 different sneakers in one go. The device deployed 100 sub-agents simultaneously, evaluating the design, pricing and availability of each single shoe. The results were distributed as a sortable matrix in both spreadsheets and web forms in a few minutes.

But extensive research is not only for data collection. In another demo, Manas agents created poster designs together in 50 different visual styles, distributing fully prepared design assets in the same downloadable zip file. The company stated that this flexibility stems from a system-level parallel processing of comprehensive research, which allows agents to communicate and coordinate in real time without assignment.

How widespread research is different from deep research

Comprehensive research contradictions with “intensive research” equipment by companies such as Openai usually use sequential, role-based approaches that focus on complete, long-term investigation. On the other hand, the widespread research of the psyche gives priority to the scale and speed, it makes it particularly useful for users who need to detect large datasets, compare hundreds of options, or generate a wide range of creative outputs at a time.

Psyche extensive research availability

Wide research for users on the Pro Plan (price of $ 199 per month) is rolling out today and will gradually be available at the plus plan (price of $ 39 per month) and the basic plan ($ 19 per month). Users of free plan will have access to a more limited version of the platform.
