Kerala rapper Vedan faced sexual harassment case on false marriage promise
A case of sexual harassment has been registered against Kerala rapper Vedan which includes allegations of false marriage promises. He was first arrested in a drug related case.

A case of rape on the pretext of false marriage promise has been registered against Kerala-based rapper Vedan, whose real name is Hirandas Murali.
The complaint was filed by a young female doctor at Thikkakkara police station on Thursday, 31 July. According to his statement, the alleged incidents took place several times between 2021 and 2023. He also claimed that he had lanks Vedan’s money over the years and was emotionally shocked after being away from the relationship.

The police have registered a case under Section 69 of BNS, which is related to sexual intercourse under the false promise of marriage.
Earlier in April this year, the police arrested Vedan and eight others from an apartment in Kochi after seizing 6 grams of hemp.
An investigation is currently underway.
Meanwhile, Vedan grew prominently with his 2019 album ‘Voice of the Voyxas’, known for raw and honest comments on caste discrimination and contradictions within Kerala of modern times.
When cricketer Sanju Samson quoted his songs on social media, helping the rapper break into the mainstream, his track attracted widespread attention to ‘The shirt sweat’.
