If you have grown up using computers in India, then there is a good chance that your first mouse or keyboard was from Loditech. It is a brand that has been a familiar name at the desk in homes and offices for decades. It is still getting stronger in that segment. But now, Logitech wants you want to know that it does not end yet. The company is changing as a change in the Times and has found some major development areas.

In a special conversation with India Today Tech, Moninder Jain, who is the vice -president and head of the emerging markets in Loditech, says that India has become an important market for the company in the last 20 years. It is not only its market that has increased here, but also its presence.

“We are doing software development, product design, delivery, everything (in India),” Moninder India tells India Today Tech. “Now, including our software development in Chennai and product distribution, we have more than 500-600 employees in India. It is an important country for us, not only for sale but also for product design.”

Moninder shared that although the company has not yet established any construction base in India, it plays an important role in software development and product testing. “Most of our software has been developed in India. A significant amount of work is also done on our headsets, including tests and research,” they say.

Logitech has been synonymous with individual computers. But in the last few decades, as the nature of a computer and the way we use them – it seems that the tablet and phone – has changed, Loditech is also changing.

Three large product segment

Moninder explains that now, Loditech’s business in India focuses on three sections. “First, (we have) are individual scope solutions, including rats, keyboards and webcams for personal use, whether at home or work, ipads and keyboard covers, including accessories,” they say “they say. “Second, we have a gaming business group, offer gaming mice, keyboards, headsets, wheels and gamepads. And third, which we started in a full way four or five years ago, video conferencing business.”

According to Loditech, all three sections are seeing steady growth in the country. But this gaming segment Moninder is the most excited. He said that over the years, gaming in India has seen a significant bounce and Loditech has received the awards.

For example, he said that in terms of sales, Loditech’s largest product in gaming in India is the steering wheel. “While many people are not aware, despite that it is a top-bound gaming product for us. It is also a top-bound product in Comic Cons where we have participated,” he said.

Interestingly, even though there is an assumption that India is a value-sensitive market, Loditech has found something else. Moninder MX talks about the master mouse chain, whose sales surprised him. He says that when the mouse is in a premium category and retails for about Rs 10,000, the device is doing amazingly good.

“Anyone can imagine that in India, such a premium mouse will not do well. However, it is one of our single largest selling products. It was certainly a surprise for most people who consider India as a low-end market,” calls Moninder. “In fact, people who have used MX Master are difficult to work with any other mouse. It is our top seller in India.”

This discovery also means that the quality, convenience and purpose of all the products for Loditech is the same worldwide. The company says that there is no cost cut for one market or others. “We have nothing especially for India, America or Switzerland. Instead, we have products that appeal to specific user classes everywhere,” Moninder says.

To fulfill AI Challenge

Even a lot of technical scenario has changed, big changes are coming. It is AI and these AI devices have the ability to re -shape the devices and techniques we use. For example, Openai and Jony Ive of Apple’s fame are working on an AI device, which will not require a keyboard or mouse for your interface. This trend is going to intensify in the coming years, potentially brings new challenges to companies such as Loditech.

But Moninder says that for Loditech, AI is a powerful companion and is not a threat. He believes that with AI, Loditech products will just be smart – but technology will not replace equipment. “AI is great for simple voice commands, but for complex works such as design, complex coding, and accuracy such as complex work, you cannot do without reaction, touch and speed that provides a keyboard and mouse. Therefore, you still need these devices to maximize the benefits of AI,” they say.

At the same time, the company believes that it has products where it can already capitalize on AI. “We have already integrated AI into our products. For example, our mice have a touch-off-a-button feature that opens the AI prompt. AI is also present in our headsets. In our conference cameras, the rights feature depends on AI,” they say. “There is no threat to AI Loditech. It is really helping us a lot.”
