Best Film Enrollment with Kalki 2898 Advertising Bags Stri 2, EFFM 2025
Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has continued his global run with the best film enrollment at the Melbourne 2025 Indian Film Festival. The nomination came a year after its release, which was recognized for the film’s vision and scale.

Nag Ashwin’s ambitious science-Fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ continued for a long time after its dramatic release. The film, which took Indian cinema to new heights with its grand scale and futuristic storytelling, is now nominated for the Best Film in Melbourne’s Indian Film Festival (IFFM) 2025.

The 16th edition of IFFM will be held from 14 August to 24 August, with the award night on 15 August. This year’s nomination has recognized films and streaming materials released between June 15, 2024 and 14 June 2025, in which the winners have been selected by a respected jury with the Australian film industry.
Released in June 2024, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ received mixed reviews on release, but earned more than Rs 600 crore globally, became a commercial success. The film stars a stellar actors including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, and is produced by Vyjayant films.

Director Nag Ashwin, during a media interaction before the re -release of his earlier film ‘Yevade Subramaniam’, confirmed that ‘Kalki 2’ will go on the floor in December 2025, expanding the universe starting with the film.
