To debut the South film with Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s Harshali Malhotra Akhhan 2
Harshali Malhotra, known as Munni from ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, is making her south starting with ‘Akhhan 2’ with Nandamuri Balkrishna. He introduced his new role, Janani as a comeback in films through an Instagram post.

Actor Harshali Malhotra of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, who won the hearts across the country as a silent and cute Munni, is fully prepared to return to the silver screen. She will appear in a new role in the much awaited Telugu sequel ‘Akhanda 2’. The film, which played the role of veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and a film directed by Boyapati Srinu, will mark the debut of Harashali in South Indian cinema.
Harshali shared a hearty note on Instagram, announced his comeback and presented his character, Janani to the world. With a character poster, he wrote, “Munni was not just a characterHe was a feeling, a memory, a heartbeat – something that stayed with you, and with me. After all these years, I have held your love – patiently, quietly, and with gratitude filled with heart. When you were missing Munni, I was preparing – learning, growing and becoming. So one day, when I return, I prepared to feel everything again on screen, not as that little girl, but with you (SIC). ,

She introduced her new role with a deep spirit, saying, “Meet Janani – a new story, a new spirit, a new chapter of mine. She laughs, she dreams, she speaks heartily, and I have put my soul in every scene.
‘Akhhand 2’ is a sequel 2021 blockbuster ‘Akhanda’, which is known for its high-octane action, spiritual elements and commanding performance of Balakrishna. With the return of the project and Balakrishna’s character once again with Boyapati Sarenu, the film is expected to offer the same collective appeal, which is combined with emotional depth.
The film is scheduled for a PAN-India release on 25 September 2025, which matches with the Dussehra Festival. It will be released in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
