Kamal Haasan, Silambarson TR, and Trisha Krishnan starrer Thug Life released dramatically with a promising promotion of success and success. However, in the end, Mani Ratnam failed to hit the film Nishan and became a great disappointment at the box office.
While the producers initially assured that the film will not be digitally released before completing eight weeks in theaters, the thug life has now made its way for OTT.
When and where to see the thug life
The makers of the thug life announced their cooperation with Netflix for their OTT deal, which they announced in the same way. And now the film has finally started streaming on the portal from July 2, 2025.
Sharing the post on X, Netflix captioned it as “Ithu Rangaraya Sathivale-Kum Yamnukum Nadadura Poti. Now see thugs on Netflix in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.”
Official trailer and thug life plot
The story of the thug life revolves around a gangster named Rangaraya Sakathivale, who protects Amaran, an orphaned little boy, during a firing incident with a rival Kingpin, thinking that he was the son who saved him.
Sakthivel later later adopts Amarran as his son. Years later, after releasing Sathivale from imprisonment, he finds converted dynamics to his kingdom, where a older Amarran is considered as the next leader.
Unaware of Sakthivedel, Amarran is manipulated by myths and plans to overthrow the east and kill him. While the latter initially thinks that he is successful in doing so, in the past he returns to the east with cold revenge against betrayal, which he considered to be himself.

The film has some of the biggest names in Tamil cinema, including Kamal Haasan, Silambaron TR, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Rohit Saraf, Ashok Selvan, Jujo George, Nasar, Mahesh Manjrekar, and more.
It is directed by Mani Ratnam and is produced by Kamal Haasan himself under the banner of Raj Kamal films. AR Rahman has composed the music score of the film.
