Junaid Khan told that when the film went to court, everyone was worriedJunaid Khan says Aamir Khan likes Maharaj

Junaid Khan followed in the footsteps of his father, actor Aamir Khan, and made his Bollywood debut this year with Sidharth Malhotra’s film Maharaaj. The film had earlier courted controversy when the Vishwa Hindu Parishad objected to its release and the film was then shelved.

But finally on June 21, the Gujarat High Court lifted the ban on the release of Maharaj. After this, the film was released on Netflix. In a recent interview, Junaid shared his state of mind when things were uncertain for his first film.

Junaid Khan told that when the film went to court, everyone was worried

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, debutant Junaid Khan, who made his acting debut with Maharaj, said it was a difficult time when the biographical crime drama went to court and the release was stayed.

He said, “I think we were all a little bit worried. But all of us and everyone who saw the film had a lot of faith in the film.” Aamir Khan’s son further added that generally, everyone who saw the film before its release felt that it was only a matter of time because according to them, the film has been handled very sensitively. He concluded, “There was always that faith in Yash Raj and Netflix. That gave us some courage.”

During the same interview, Junaid revealed that his father, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, “loved the film very much.” Describing his father’s method of watching movies for entertainment, he said that when Mr. Perfectionist watches something that is not his own, he watches it as a spectator.

Khan said that the PK actor watches anything for the enjoyment of it. “It doesn’t get into his mind. He doesn’t analyse a film when he watches it. He watches them for fun,” Junaid said. The young actor also revealed that he is currently working on Aamir Khan Productions’ next film.

Apart from Junaid, the film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey, while Sharvari Wagh also makes a special appearance.
