Kubera Review: Dhanush serves as a driving force in the story of ‘Power vs. Money’ with harsh performance by Nagarjuna

Kubera, Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akini hit the big screen on 20 June 2025, starring in the lead roles. Under the direction of Sekhar Kammula, an interesting story of Power vs. money has been provided with the director’s unique and extreme depiction.

If you are planning to go deep into the webs of a crime -filled world, then there is a Pinkvilla review for Kubera.

Plot

Kubera told the story of a commercial tycoon, Neeraj, who is a powerful person who plans to seize the control of a newly discovered oil reserve in the Bay of Bengal. To make it a certain deal, he decides to bribe politicians of the entire nation with an amount of Rs 1 lakh crore.

As the deal requires uncertain treatment, the businessman decides to seek help from former CBI official Deepak. With the plan to include the use of a beggar, he involves a homeless man, Deva in his plan, which leads to anarchy that had no expectation.

Does the businessman succeed in bribing politicians and the former CBI official agreed to be a part of the scheme that the rest of the film.

Good

Finding aspects of Kubera, the film rides a heavy ride on the gods and the characters of Deepak. The roles are played by Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akini respectively. The actors have performed with great perfection.

Under the leadership of Ryan the actor, Dhanush completely surrenders himself to the story, once again proves his caliber as a versatile artist. As the director of Sekhar Kammula has investigated the extreme of a social status, the film is deeply inherent in realism, a rare achievement in Telugu cinema.

As the specific signature of the director is woven visually into the story, Kubera offers a novelty for her presentation, but the writing flaws do not affect the characters in this film.

The director provides excessive care in execution, and the technical aspects are strong with the music tracks of Goddess Shri Prasad. The skill of the composer as a composer is firmly shown by Nichet Bomeddi with cinematography, which captures each frame with accurate and aesthetic quality.

bad

Kubera is a story that provides a fresh plot, but sadly, the film fails from a writing point of view. The poor crafting of the screenplay is triphaling in both the first half and the second half.

In the initial half, Dhanush starr ensures that it takes its sweet time to install the main aspects. The long term for world-building looks like a humble function for an audience, but a moment of height turns it into an edge-to-seat thriller, leading to the midpoint.

While the second half manages to continue the speed, the third act fails to maintain it, manages to lose the focus. The climax, where all this belongs to together, is a savings grace in a fleeting moment, partially formed for lack of writing.

In all important aspects, Kubera suffers from long for more than 3 hours. While a writer and director can hold the duration correct as a requirement, a member of the audience may not be affected to spend such a big time.

With respect to the characters, Rashmika Mandanna was luxurious with her portrayal; However, it seems that his importance in the flick was at a point. Failure to edit the film more briefly is a big thief to experience the film’s full potential.

Display

As mentioned earlier, the bow is driving force for social thriller enterprise. From the view of the introduction, the actor is favorable for his surroundings, paying detailed attention to every nuance.

While Nagarjuna plays an age-appointed role, the experienced star manages to show a door to his skills, often ignored by many filmmakers. Rashmika offers her best version with this film.

Finally, apart from a great actor like Jim Serb, you want him to appear in more South films.

Decision

Kubera is an interesting and unique attempt by Sekhar Kammula in a combination of commercial aspects with a realistic story. A contingent of a talented artists was put on the hull, the social thriller is a fresh cup of tea despite its flaws.

If you love such styles or want to experience masterclass in acting by Dhanush, then definitely watch this film without failure.
