Apple says that some M2 Mac Minis cannot power, check if you are eligible for free repair

Apple has launched a free repair program in India to address a manufacturing defect affecting a limited batch of its 2023 Mac mini model powered by M2 chip. The company says that a small number of these units is experiencing the “no power” issue, which should unable to turn them on due to the mistake of internal hardware.
According to Apple’s official support documentation, the issue affects the MAC Mini (2023) model specifically with M2 chips that originated between June 16, 2024 and 23 November 2024. If a device falls within this manufacturing window and suffers from an electric failure, Apple will be considered either Apple through its own service centers through its own service centers.
Now, how do you recognize whether your Apple device was manufactured on these dates or not? Owners of potentially affected Mac Mini units are encouraged to check the serial number of their device using a dedicated tool on Apple’s assistance website. Those characters can then book an appointment in Apple Retail Store or bring their device to a participating service provider for inspection and repair.
While the repair program is part of Apple’s global service initiative, the company notes that it can limit the repair of the country or region where the device was originally purchased. For Indian customers, this means that the eligible equipment purchased in India can be served locally without any cost.
Importantly, Apple has clarified that the program applies to the “no power” issue identified on a particularly specified Mac Mini M2 model. Other Mac mini variants, as well as separate Apple products, are not included in this repair plan.
Although the repair program does not expand the standard warranty or applecare+ coverage, it will remain active for a period of three years from the original date of retail sales. This means that such customers whose devices are out of warranty, but still can still benefit from free repair service within a three -year window.
