Kalki 2898 AD release and review: Fans burst crackers, pour milk on Prabhas’ poster
Director Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles, released in theatres in multiple languages on June 27. The sci-fi film with an equal dose of Hindu mythology is set in a dystopian world. It is India’s most expensive film made with a whopping budget of Rs 600 crore.
Ahead of the film’s release, Prabhas and Nag Ashwin held a live session on Instagram where they shared several interesting details about the film which increased everyone’s curiosity. Prabhas went a step further and confirmed Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Deverakonda’s cameos in this mega-budget film.
According to early trade reports, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has taken a great opening at the box office. Trade analysts have predicted that the film could touch the Rs 200 crore mark globally on its first day in theatres. According to trade experts, the opening weekend collection could touch Rs 500 crore worldwide.
Two giants of Indian cinema Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan will share screen space together in ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ While Big B will play the role of the mighty Ashwatthama, Kamal Haasan will be seen in the role of the supreme being Yaskin. Prabhas is playing the role of Bhairava while Deepika Padukone is playing the role of a pregnant woman whose child is believed to be Kalki, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’: Prabhas confirms Vijay Deverakonda’s cameo
During an Instagram live session with director Nag Ashwin, Prabhas delighted fans by revealing that Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Deverakonda are also a part of the project. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Prabhas said, “Thank you Dulquer, thank you Vijay, they made our film big.”

Kalki 2898 A.D.: Nag Ashwin says Prabhas will enter the film after 20 minutes
Ahead of the film’s release on June 26, Nag Ashwin and Prabhas held a live session on Instagram. During the session, the director revealed that Prabhas as Bhairava will enter the film after 20 minutes.
He said, “I will shout at Prabhas’ entry. I am not a person who shouts in the theatre. But I will shout when I see Prabhas. His entry will be a little late and he will appear 20 minutes later. It will take some time to build the world. We need to introduce a lot of characters and tell the story. But people will go home with Bhairava as the character they love the most.”
