Veteran Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu joined hands for their fourth cooperation, titled ‘Akhara 2: Thanandavam’. The sequel to his 2021 film ‘Akhnda’ unveiled the teaser of the upcoming project on the occasion of Balakrishna’s birthday.
The film is produced by Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and is presented by M Teejswini Nandamuri. The teaser, which was launched on Monday, June 9, showed Balakrishna in a fierce new form, in line with spiritual tone and stild action, which marked the first film.

A major attraction of the teaser is a scene with a characteristic of Trishul by Nandi, against the snow-capped peaks similar to Kailash. The sequence is associated with goons with actor’s walk and action scenes, which reflects the film’s emphasis on mythological symbolism, over-the-top action and mass appeal.
‘Akhand 2: Thanandavam’ played Balakrishna, Samyuktha, and Audi Pinnisti, later played the role of opponent. Boyapati Sarenu has maintained his signature approach to increase Balakrishna’s screen appearance. The action sequence choreographed by Ram-Lakshmana blended spirituality and aggression, while Thman S, who composed music for the first part, presents background music that extends the sequence to a higher level.
The producers revealed that the team is currently filming major parts in Georgia, including a major action sequence. Cinematography is handled by C Ramprasad and Santosh de Hitech, while editing is performed by Tammarju. The film is scheduled to release ahead of Dussehra on 25 September.
Nandamuri Balakrishna was last seen in the hit film ‘Daku Maharaj’, in which Bobby Deol, Urvashi Rautela, Chandni Chaudhary, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath also acted others. After earning more than Rs 125 crore at the box office worldwide, ‘Daku Maharaj’ became a profitable enterprise and one of Balai’s largest box-office successes.
