Today on his birthday, let’s revisit his decision to stay away from the limelight for the sake of family.
In an interview with Hindustan Times in 2013, Zeenat Aman explained why she decided to move away from acting opposite her peers Shabana Azmi and Hema Malini. After losing her husband, her priorities changed and she felt the need to take a break from her career. The challenging circumstances of that time focused her attention on planning a life focused on the well-being of her children.
She was determined to provide them with a fulfilling life and be fully present during their growing up years. “I wanted to give them a quality life and not lose their growing up years,” she said.
Zeenat further revealed that when things started settling down and she considered returning to acting, she realized that she had distanced herself too much from the film industry. She decided not to come back saying that her priorities had changed and this time, walking away from her career was a conscious decision.
In the same interview, the veteran actress shared what kept her busy during her break from public life. He mentioned that he took interest in teaching and participated in theatre. Reflecting on his time away from the limelight, he said that when you are satisfied with what you are doing, you don’t miss anything. He said, “There is a lot in my life today. Acting is just a part of it.”
On the professional front, Zeenat is all set to return to the screens with Aman Ban Tikki. The release date has not been revealed yet, and it is still unclear whether the film will release theatrically or go straight to digital platforms. This marks his return to acting after his role in Panipat in 2019.
