Zeenat Aman introduced singer Nazia Hassan to Feroz Khan for ‘Qurbani’
Veteran actress Zeenat Aman shared a post on Instagram and revealed how she introduced singer Nazia Hassan to Feroz Khan for the iconic song ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’. The song later became popular among fans.
Zeenat Aman shared a long post on Instagram and remembered singer Nazia Hassan as she celebrated 44 years of the iconic film ‘Qurbani’. Muniza sang the popular peppy track ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ in the film, which became quite popular among fans.
On this special occasion of the film, the veteran actress elaborated how she met Nazia and introduced her to Feroz Khan, after which she was selected to sing a song in this classic film. Sharing the story, the actress said that she met Muniza at her hotel in London, where she had gone to meet Zeenat along with her children Nazia and Zoheb.
“The woman was very pretty. Her name was Muniza. And she had two teenage children with her. A quiet girl named Nazia and a boy named Zoheb. I had not planned to entertain them for long, but soon I found myself lost in deep conversation with Muniza. They were a charming and cultured family of Pakistani origin, and to my surprise I found myself inviting them to join me in our suite. That night I learned that Nazia and Zoheb were pursuing music studies, and I even saw a brief demo of young Nazia’s pipes,” she wrote.
The iconic actor further wrote that after a conversation with Nazia, he was drawn in by her charm and later introduced her to Feroz Khan.
She said, “I then introduced her to Feroz Khan, with whom I was starting an ambitious project. You can imagine the rest… Feroz was impressed with Nazia’s voice and under the guidance of composer Biddu, the 15-year-old Nazia Hassan recorded the mega-hit ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’.”
At the end of the beautiful note, Zeenat reminisced her sweet memories with Muniza and how she left this world too early. “I always felt protective of Nazia, and during the film’s events and promotions, I kept a close eye on her, much to the dismay of her fans and the great joy of her mother. Nazia died too young. A true shooting star who was bright, radiant and fiery. On this occasion, I remember her with love and gratitude,” she concluded.
‘Qurbani’ featured actors like Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Amrish Puri and Kader Khan in lead roles.
