Yudhra starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Malavika Mohanan, Raghav Juyal and Ram Kapoor failed to make a place in the hearts of the audience. In its first week itself, the film lost its potential at the box office and turned out to be a huge flop. The action-drama film is going to end its run in the theatres with a disappointing 13 crore to 13.25 crore rupees worldwide.
Siddhant Chaturvedi’s film ‘Yudhra’ released, earned Rs 13 crore worldwide
Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the stylish action-drama failed to woo audiences at the ticket window. The long-delayed film finally released in cinemas on National Cinema Day, where it availed a cut in ticket fares and grossed Rs 4.25 crore in India. However, it failed to take off and managed to earn only Rs 7.50 crore in its first weekend, witnessing a significant drop.
Moreover, the film did not do well during the weekdays and struggled to remain stable. The total earnings of Yudhra in India currently stands at Rs 9.35 crore. Sadly, the action-drama is ending on a Rs 10 crore mark (Rs 12 crore total) at the Indian box office.
Apart from a disappointing performance in the domestic markets, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s film did not find any success in overseas territories either. The action film managed to earn $125 thousand overseas while it managed to earn only Rs 1.05 crore in Indian currency.
What went wrong with Yudhra?
Yudhra is a victim of a delayed release, which almost killed all the buzz that Siddhant Chaturvedi earned after winning hearts in Gully Boy. Also, the makers failed to create curiosity among the audience with their promotions and marketing campaign. All these reasons would have made no sense if it was a well-made film in terms of content. But it started with mixed to negative word of mouth, which almost killed its potential at the box office.
Yudhra is a theatrical flop but the makers have not suffered any loss. They have already made a good non-theatrical deal with OTT and music players. Although Excel Entertainment is not getting any profit from it, they have definitely recovered their budget.
