Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan’s film ‘Yudhra’ earned Rs 8.60 crore in its first weekend at the box office. A drop in business on Saturday and Sunday is a bad sign for any film at the box office. Most films see an upward trend at the ticket window on Saturday-Sunday, even if the audience rejects them on Monday.

  • Friday: Rs 4.5 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 1.75 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 2.35 crore
  • Total: Rs 8.60 crore

Directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, Yudhra is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 50 crore. Given its current pace, it will collect Rs 10 crore at the box office before the end of its first week. However, it is difficult to predict its lifespan as it has no major audience attachment.

Interestingly, Stree 2, which has been running in theatres for the last 40 days, has collected more than Yudhra in its sixth weekend. The Amar Kaushik-directed film earned Rs 5 crore on its sixth Friday, Rs 3.65 crore on the following Saturday and Rs 4.85 crore on its sixth Sunday. The film has emerged as the first choice of the audience at the box office, whether new films are released or re-released.
