The box office collection of ‘Yudhra’, directed by Ravi Udyawar and starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Malavika Mohanan, Raghav Juyal and Ram Kapoor, dropped significantly on the second day. After a great opening on the occasion of National Cinema Day, the action film performed poorly on Saturday.

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s film ‘Yudhra’ is in bad shape; 55% drop on the second day

Financed by Excel Entertainment, the long-awaited action film Yudhra finally released this weekend. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film grossed a decent Rs 4.25 crore at the Indian box office, thanks to the discounted ticket prices on the occasion of National Cinema Day, where the ticket fare was reduced to Rs 99 across the country.

Yudhra took a big hit due to the blockbuster wave of Stree 2 which is still doing great business. The action film starring Shraddha Kapoor couldn’t match the 6th weekend collections and found itself facing a tough time.

The action drama faced a huge drop of 55% and could only collect Rs 2 crore nett on the second day which is even lesser than Stree 2’s 37th day collection. Yudhra’s two-day total collection has reached Rs 6.25 crore in India.

Yudhra received mixed to negative reviews

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s film received mixed to negative reviews, which almost seals its fate. However, the makers have already struck a good non-theatrical deal by selling its music and digital rights, which should recover its production cost. But that’s not going to change the verdict in any way.

To get a favourable verdict, the film will have to move ahead rapidly on the third day, i.e. Sunday, and then remain steady on the weekdays to garner a respectable collection of around Rs 50 crore by the end of its theatrical run in India. However, this looks a bit difficult as the film will face a tough competitor in the name of Devraa on September 27.

Here is the day wise India net box office collection of ‘Yudhra’:

Day Bharat Net Collection
1 Rs 4.25 crore
2 Rs 2 crore
Total 6.25 crores in 2 days

About Yudhra

Yudhra (Siddhant Chaturvedi) is an orphan boy with a short temper. He grows up to be a goon who repeatedly gets himself into trouble. Yudhra’s uncle Rehman (Ram Kapoor), who is part of the special forces, suggests to Kartik Rathore (Gajraj Rao), Yudhra’s adoptive father, who was once a colleague of Yudhra’s biological father in the police (and is now a politician), that they send him to the army so that he can make better use of his strength. Yudhra learns discipline. After Yudhra is expelled from the army for nearly killing a gangster, his uncle asks him to become an undercover agent for the police.

Yudhra is given the task of busting a drug racket involving very powerful names, who were also responsible for his parents’ death.

Raj Arjun plays the role of drug mafia Feroz. Raghav Juyal plays the role of Feroz’s son Shafiq. Malavika Mohanan is Rehman’s daughter who gets caught in this mess. She plays Yudhra’s girlfriend.
