As we approach the New Year, it is time to look back at the box office performance of the films that have left a mark at the ticket window. Pinkvilla presents the list of top 10 highest grossing Bollywood movies at the Indian box office this year.
Stree 2 remained on top among all the other big releases this year. The horror-comedy created history by becoming a hit in the industry by defeating Jawan at the Hindi box office. However, the title of the highest grossing film is now held by Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2. The film starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor grossed over ₹585 crore in Hindi and topped the charts among the highest-grossing films of 2024.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again took the second and third position with nett collections of ₹247 crore and ₹240 crore respectively. Both the films releasing on Diwali affected each other’s business due to clashing positions, although they managed to reach close to the ₹250 crore mark in their full theatrical run in Hindi.
Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter took the fourth position in Hindi with a box office collection of ₹200 crore. Although the word-of-mouth of the film was good, it did not draw the audience to the theaters as expected and remained a weak performer at the box office. After this, Ajay Devgan’s Shaitan took the 5th position with a net collection of around ₹150 crore in Hindi. It was a superhit at the box office.
The list includes films like Munjya, which was a surprise hit this year, Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Crew, Bad News and Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan.
