Tara Sutaria has been introduced as Rebecca in the much-awaited pan-India film, marking a significant change in her screen image and indeed her first major presentation at the national level. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by Yash, the film is already shaping up to be one of the most ambitious releases of 2026.
Rebecca is introduced as a character defined by quiet elegance and inner strength, driven by a fierce instinct for survival. The first-look poster shows Sutaria in a balanced yet commanding avatar, delicate on top, formidable on the bottom, hinting at a grittier, more complex role than what audiences have seen before.
The caption reads, “Introducing Tara Sutaria as Rebecca in A Toxic Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups (sic).”

Director Geetu Mohandas, speaking about his collaboration with Sutaria, described the actor as “a guarded soul” who brings unexpected depth to his performance. He said that giving Sutaria the space to explore the character was key to their creative process, resulting in what he called a calm, focused and professional collaboration.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups It has a stellar cast which includes Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Nayanthara along with Yash. Co-written by Yash and Mohandas, the film is being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in multiple Indian and international languages to ensure wide reach.
The technical crew further underlines the scale of the film. National Award winner Rajeev Ravi serves as the cinematographer, with the music composed by Ravi Basrur. Editing is handled by Ujwal Kulkarni, while TP Abid is on board as production designer.
