X (formerly Twitter) is now working to enter your TV interface as well. Just like Netflix and other OTT apps, users will now be able to use X on their TV. Today, Elon Musk confirmed that the beta version of the X TV app has already been released for Android TV. The beta version is currently live on LG, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV devices, but there is a high possibility that it will come to more devices. While the exact launch date is not confirmed, it may come to different devices at different times. The same happened for the beta version. Amazon shows that the app came to their universe at the end of July, but LG got it on August 29.

X TV App: All the Details

Now the question is, will X be just a social media platform when it comes to TV? The answer is, we don’t think so. As per the description and screenshots shared on Google Play, the X TV app is actually a new OTT stream. It says, “X-Stream Service TV is a great streaming TV service available exclusively to X-Stream Service Internet subscribers. You can watch TV the way you want and when you want. No need to rent a set-top box! You can watch all your favourite live local, news, sport, movie, music and weather channels instantly or watch later.”

The X TV app also includes many features such as:

-Replay TV: Never miss your favorite shows again! With Replay TV, X-Stream Services can store up to 72 hours of shows in the cloud, so you can access your shows instantly.

-Startover TV: You will never miss the beginning of a movie or show you wanted to watch. With the Startover TV feature, you can choose what to watch right from the beginning.

– Free Cloud DVR: Store up to 100 hours of DVR recordings for free. Additional storage available.

X TV App: How to Use It?

As far as the beta version is concerned, users must have an X account to watch content on the application. For now, this app is only available for Android smart TVs. Search for X TV and install it on your smart TV.

How to subscribe to the app is still unknown to us. We think it will be revealed on the launch date itself.

The launch of the XTV app will give users another option to watch content. But this is not good news for other OTT and video streaming applications like YouTube.
