Introduction
The Redmi 13 is a great entry-level phone. Well, not in the literal sense, as its 6.79-inch display is actually quite big. The Redmi 13 isn’t the cheapest phone in Redmi’s current roster. You can go even lower with the Redmi 13C. Still, a base 6GB/128GB Redmi 13 will last you just fine. $180/€170This is potentially a good deal, especially if you place a high value on a good camera experience.
The Redmi 13 is the first phone in the Redmi number series to feature a 108MP main camera. It looks impressive on paper, and it seems there are only a few clear competitors in this price range that offer a similar main camera.

The Redmi 13 has a few shortcomings. For one thing, it’s a 4G phone with one of the older Helio chipsets (well, it’s old on the inside). The Helio G91 Ultra isn’t all that impressive. And it’s paired with eMMC 5.1 storage chips, which are pretty sluggish by today’s standards.
The Redmi 13 also comes with a single speaker instead of a stereo setup, basic ingress protection, and an unimpressive 90Hz LCD panel.
On the positive side, the Redmi 13 comes with dual SIM support. One of the nano-SIM slots is hybrid, which means you also get microSD expandable storage. The Redmi 13 also has a 3.5mm jack and an FM radio receiver, IR blaster, and NFC in some markets. The well-sized 5,030mAh battery also supports 33W wired PD charging, which has the potential to be quite fast for a low midrange phone. Unfortunately, you don’t get a charger in the box in every region.
Unboxing
The Redmi 13 comes in a simple two-piece cardboard box. It is painted red on the top, which makes it stand out. The box is nice and sturdy. There is no plastic in the packaging, and the phone cradle inside the box is made of cardboard.
As we already mentioned, unfortunately the Redmi 13 doesn’t come with a charger in every region. You’ll only get it in certain markets.
You get a basic USB Type-A to Type-C cable in the box. It’s nothing special, but it’s wired for data, which is a good thing.
Our review unit also came with a nice transparent TPU case. However, you should check if your local retailer offers it.
