Nikki Glaser becomes the first female solo host of the Golden Globes in 2025. The stand-up comedian, who delivered a brilliant opening monologue as host, recently revealed that she got paid less than previous male hosts.
Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, Nikki said, “I feel well paid for what I do. I feel like I’m OK. And in this first year, when you’re trying to prove yourself, If I had, I would have done so honestly.” It’s free. It’s a crazy stage.”
She emphasized that her motivation was not financial, saying, “It’s not about money for me. When people say, ‘You work so hard,’ I say, ‘Who wouldn’t?’ ‘ I don’t understand. I’ve certainly done some things that I haven’t tried that hard on, but the risk isn’t that great.”

Nikki mentioned a former host who revealed her salary during her monologue, saying that she earned less, but remained optimistic about future opportunities, saying, “I’ll get more next year.” There is speculation that he has signed a three-year contract with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to continue hosting the Golden Globes.
It’s likely Nikki was referring to Jarrod Carmichael, who hosted the Golden Globes in 2023 and claimed he was paid $500,000.
Emilia Perez, The Brutalist and Shogun dominated this year’s Golden Globes. Emilia Perez and Shogun took home four awards each, while The Brutalist took home three trophies.
