Woman searching for her biological parents finds father in Facebook friends list

An adopted woman in Georgia got the surprise of a lifetime when she discovered she had been Facebook friends with her birth father for years. According to a report, Tamuna Museridze made this surprising discovery while she was on a mission to find her birth parents BBCThe search for Ms Museridze began in 2016 after the death of the woman who raised her. While leaving the house, she found her birth certificate, but noticed that it had the wrong date of birth, leading to suspicions that she may have been adopted.

After doing some research, Ms. Museridze founded a Facebook group called Vedzeb, or I’m Searching, in hopes of reuniting with her birth parents. It was not until this year that she received a message from a woman in rural Georgia claiming that her aunt had concealed a pregnancy in Tbilisi in September 1984, which coincided with Ms. Museridze’s birth date. Used to eat.

After some correspondence, the unnamed woman agreed to undergo a DNA test. While waiting for the tests, Ms. Museridze decided to call her mother.

Ms Museridze told the publication about her first conversation with her mother, “She started screaming – she said she hadn’t given birth to a child. She didn’t want anything to do with me.”

“I was prepared for anything, but her reaction was beyond my imagination.”

A week later, DNA testing arrived, confirming that Ms. Musseridze and the woman on Facebook were indeed cousins. With solid evidence on her side, Ms Museridze again confronted her mother and convinced her to admit the truth. Made him spit out his father’s name also. It was a man named Gurgen Khorava.

“The first two months were shocking, I couldn’t believe these things were happening to me. I couldn’t believe I had found them,” Ms Museridze said.

Once Ms. Museridze had Mr. Khorava’s name, she immediately found him on Facebook. It was revealed that he had been following her story on social media and the pair had been friends for three years.

“(He) was on my friends list for three years. He didn’t even know my birth mother was pregnant. It was a huge surprise to him,” she said.

The father-daughter duo soon met up in Mr Khorava’s hometown, where Ms Museridze was introduced to her cousins and half-siblings. She said that of all her father’s children, she looked most like him.

Ms Museridze also noted that her mother was ashamed of having a child out of wedlock. She hid her pregnancy and eventually moved to a nearby town to give birth in secret.
