Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar is ‘disappointed’ with Virat Kohli’s retirement. He requested the cricketer to reconsider his decision.
Lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar has requested Virat Kohli to rethink his decision of premature retirement. On 14 May, an experienced lyricist shared a post on X and mentioned that he was ‘disappointed’ with the decision of the cricketer.
Akhtar also suggested Kohli to reconsider his decision. “Apparently Virat knows better, but as a fan of this great player, I am disappointed with his prematurely retirement from Test cricket. I think there is still a lot of cricket. I honestly request him to reconsider his decision,” read the post.

On May 12, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket after a 14 -year -long journey. In an emotional Instagram post, he wrote, “It has been 14 years when I first donated Bagi Blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I could never predict that this format will push me forward. It has tested me, has given me shape, and taught me a lesson that I will cherish for life (SIC).”
Later, many Bollywood actors, including Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Angad Bedi and Undesti Khurrana, also reacted to the decision of the cricketer and called it disappointing.
