Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty attracted attention when he addressed complaints about Kanguva’s loud sound in theatres. Many viewers left disturbing reviews of the Suriya starrer, expressing displeasure over the sound and background score being too loud. And recently, the sound designer put up another post, this time requesting theater owners ahead of the next mega release, Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Resul shared a picture of himself from the editing room of the upcoming Allu Arjun starrer on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote a request to theater owners, asking them to tune and adjust the speakers in advance.

This post was created in response to complaints about loud noises for Kanguva, so that the audience does not get the same viewing experience as they are now ready to watch Pushpa 2: The Rule on the big screen.

He wrote, “As the trailer of #pushpa2therule releases today, it has been quite an engagement on many levels. I want to tell all the movie lovers and fans that #Pushpa2 will be mixed at standard Dolby Level 7. I request all theaters to tune the amps and speakers on time @MythriOfficial @alluarjun @PushpaMovie.’

Let us tell you, earlier through an Instagram post, Resul had addressed the criticism the makers of Kanguva received from the audience, who found that the musical score of the entire film was bombastic, taking away a lot of time to preserve a positive viewing experience.

He expressed how no film in the fraternity would work to its full potential if, after watching it, the audience experiences bad headaches caused by the unbearably high sound.

The makers of Kanguva also addressed the issue of negative feedback the film received due to poor sound editing, which led to it being tagged loudly by many.

Speaking at a press conference, the film’s producer Gnanavel Raja reacted to the negative reviews and assured of taking corrective steps for the same.

He said, “We spoke to all the exhibitors and requested them to reduce the volume by two points to eliminate negative feedback related to the sound intensity. It’s not the DSP’s fault; There is a loud noise due to the sound mixing, and it will be corrected by tonight’s show.”

Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil and others will release on December 5, 2024.
