Therefore, if you are religiously recycling, then bringing your own tot bags in the farmers’ market, and ordering the milk of the without trapped oats, congratulations. 2025 is actually introducing us to some lover Lingos, which are challenging to keep together (most of you will agree). After saying this, we also believe that there is representation power and if it means that we name or break in every new way, it should happen.
So, the new buzzword – in fact, it’s nothing new, it is now for a few years, but is slowly gaining speed. So, we thought that it was time when we can see what it all is: Eco-dumping,
Dating has become green, and we do not just mean jealousy. We are talking about fully developed eco-consciousness as a new romantic currency.
According to a new survey by Happan, a dating app, 60% single now says stability is a green flagQuite literal. Therefore, if you are religiously recycling, then bringing your own tot bags in the farmers’ market, and ordering the milk of the without trapped oats, congratulations. You have become more noticeable right now. But if your mindset fails to align, you can just get “eco-dump”.
Yes, “eco-dumping” is a real thing. This involves breaking a relationship because the environmental habits of a partner do not align with themselves.
From vibes to values
It is no longer about good vibes when it is now a matter of compatibility. At the end of the day, these are values that make or break the deal – and it seems that environmental awareness holds a major place in the lives of many (if not most).
No cafes, movies or restaurants-52% of General Z and 58% women prefer permanent first datesSuch as park walk, vegetarian cafe or local flea market. Even Millennials are on the board, about half of the people said that environmentally friendly plans make them feel more in the sink with their date.
An ambitious journalist in Delhi, 22 -year -old Minal Sardana says, “I am an environment conscious person, and I really appreciate that if my partner – or someone I am dating – I am heating that mindset. At any peak, it is possible to live a more durable life.
Beware of greenwashing
While the environment conscious is a green flag, people want to be clear from the people who pretend – if you know what we mean. Fake eco-consciousness is a delivery, and 37% General Z says that stability is only attractive if it looks real,
Now imagine a person who uses steel or bamboo straw instead of plastic, uses a wooden brush instead of a plastic, and of course reaches for reusable cutlery – but when it comes to travel, it is always a business class. There is no accountability for a carbon footprint. This is your cue. He is pretending out there.
“Many people do it to impress others,” says 31 -year -old Surajit Dasgupta, an IT professional.
And get this: 25% General Z and Millennials accept that they will actually rethink a connection Or dump someone to someone if their stability values were not aligned.
And here is the twist: 26% General Z (24% of Millennials) confesses to pretending to be greenery They are really to influence a potential partner.
We are calling it what it is: Greenfishing (ROFL).
For Karima Ben Abdelmlake, CEO of Happan, this development in dating is not surprising – this is necessary. “Being conscious of the environment is not just a moral option,” he said. “This is a green flag for authentic bonds.”
“For many people, shared environmental values are no longer just one preference-they should be one in forming a real relationship,” she concludes.
So, will you dump someone on plastic straw?
