Varun Dhawan answers whether he would do a film like Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal
Varun Dhawan discusses his approach towards Ranbir Kapoor’s roles in Animal and his interest in working with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga

In a recent interview, Varun Dhawan told whether he would ever be able to play a role like Ranbir Kapoor in Animal. The actor had earlier praised Kapoor’s performance in the film.
While speaking to GQ India, Varun Dhawan was asked if he would consider a film like ‘Animal’, which has faced criticism for promoting problematic narratives. Varun responded by saying that he does not let cinema influence his moral values, but admitted uncertainty about how he would have reacted to such projects in the past. He suggested that he might have given it more thought then. Acknowledging different perspectives, he expressed his desire to work with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, whom he respects.
He said, “I am not the person who lets cinema influence my moral compass. But I don’t know how I would have reacted at that time if it had come to me. I might have thought about it more. Sandeep thinks differently. He is a guy I would definitely like to work with.”
Earlier, during a conversation with Kunal Khemu, Varun had praised Animal and said that it leaves an impact on the audience. He also took to the internet and asked people to watch the film, describing both director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Ranbir Kapoor as “amazing”.
On the work front, Varun’s next film, Baby John, co-starring Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff is set to release on December 25, 2024. Next, he has many exciting projects, including Sunny Sanskari’s. Tulsi Kumar with Janhvi Kapoor and ‘Border 2’ with Sunny Deol and Diljit Dosanjh.
