Wamiqa Gabbi has been breaking the internet since her appearance in Baby John with Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. While we exclusively informed you that the actress has bagged Akshay Kumar’s Bhoot Bungalow, the latest reports suggest that she will be sharing the spotlight with Ranveer Singh for the Shaktimaan-inspired superhero.

According to a report published by Mid-Day, Wamiqa Gabbi is the frontrunner to join Minnal Murali fame director Basil Joseph’s upcoming superhero film. The project, led by Ranveer Singh, is a Bollywood adaptation of the iconic Indian superhero Shaktimaan.

A source close to the development told the publication that the Baby John actress is garnering significant attention for her versatile performances in Hindi and regional cinema. It is also rumored that she is signing a Telugu project with Nani.

The source was quoted as saying, “Currently, it’s all talk, but if the film is successful, the pairing of Vamika and Ranveer in Basil’s film will add new energy to the project that has been in the works for five years. “

Although no official announcement has been made yet, an insider has claimed that the film is in its early stages, with pre-production underway. The source shared that despite his limited proficiency in Hindi, director Joseph has been reading and meeting with Ranveer in Mumbai.

“Once the script is complete and the final dates are worked out, it will be finalised,” the source said. He told that till then Ranveer Singh is busy completing Aditya Dhar’s spy film. The source said that Singh will focus on superhero films after March.

Notably, Pinkvilla had exclusively informed you last year that Shaktimaan has been in the writing stage for over 3 years. We also told you that the film directed by Basil Joseph will be produced by Sony Pictures India and Sajid Nadiadwala. Notably, it is an ambitious 2026 feature film, with shooting expected to begin in May 2025.
