Suriya is all set to be seen in the lead role in the film Suriya 46 directed by Lucky Bashkar fame Venky Atluri. Since the film has not announced the release date yet, producer Naga Vamsi has issued a clarification regarding the same.
Surya 46 to release in July or August 2026?
During a recent press appearance for Vishwak Sen starrer Funky, producer Naga Vamsi, who financed both the projects, shared an update on the Suriya starrer. The filmmaker said, “Suriya46 will release in theaters 3 or 4 months after the release of Suriya’s Karuppu. We want to keep enough gap between the release of Karuppu and Suriya46.”
He said, “Karuppu is likely to release in April 2026, and we can expect Suriya46 to release in July or August. The shooting is currently in its final stages, with only five working days left to wrap up. The film explores a love story between individuals with a significant age difference.”
Surya 46 stars Mamita Baiju in the lead role, with Raveena Tandon playing a pivotal role. Veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar is also a part of the cast. Earlier there were rumors that the film was titled Vishwanathan & Sons; However, the official update has not been made yet.
Surya’s work front
Suriya is all set to hit the big screen with his fantasy action entertainer Karuppu. The film is said to be the story of a lawyer who gets possessed by a deity to fight against the injustice done to certain sections of the society. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film stars Trisha Krishnan in the lead role.
Looking ahead, Suriya also has a film tentatively titled Suriya47. The upcoming project is said to feature the actor as an easy-going and eccentric police officer. While the official update is yet to come, the Jeethu Madhavan directorial is expected to be the story of a fun-loving police team who is assigned a serious case and how they solve it.
The action-comedy film co-stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh in the lead role, with Neslen playing a pivotal role. Additionally, music composer Sushin Shyam will make his debut in Tamil cinema with this film.
