Pinkvilla was the first to inform you that Sidharth Malhotra is in advanced talks with Ekta Kapoor to join the film directed by Deepak Mishra, known for his hit web series, Panchayat. Now, in a recent development, it has been revealed that Sara Ali Khan has been finalized as the leading lady for the film.
According to a report published in India Today, it has been revealed that Sara Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra are all set to join hands for the first time on a rural folk story. The report states that the film will be directed by Deepak Mishra of Panchayat fame.
The untitled film is reportedly based on the backdrop of a rural folk tale, offering a fresh storyline for both the actors. A source close to the development told the publication that the film is scheduled to begin production in 2025.
It is worth noting that we had earlier told you that Ekta Kapoor and TVF have joined hands to bring unique but commercial stories on the big screen. The source further told us that the film is rich in content and emotions, based on a folkloric backdrop deeply rooted in Hindu mythology.
“The vision of the makers is to create a unique cinematic experience like Kantara with the feature film. While Sid hopes to hear the final statement in November, the makers aim to take the film on floors in the second half of 2025. He will do so. Sign on the dotted lines after the final statement is made,” the source had earlier said.
Meanwhile, Sara will next be seen in Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, Konkana Sensharma and Fatima Sana Shaikh. It is set to release on November 29, 2024.
Sidharth, on the other hand, has Race 4 in the pipeline with Saif Ali Khan. The film’s writer Shiraz Ahmed confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that the film will go on floors in January 2025. He also told that the script and casting is almost complete and apart from the casting of Saif and Siddharth, other actors will also be there. To be announced by the producers at a later date.
