Prabhas’ next film Fauji (tentative) has been in the news for quite some time now. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film was speculated to star Mrunal Thakur in the lead role. However, the actress has denied the casting rumours on social media.
Recently, Mrunal wrote in the comment section of a post shared on Instagram that she is a part of Prabhas’ upcoming film. However, she dismissed all the rumours with her response and said, “Sorry to be a vibe killer! But I am not a part of this film.”
However, the news doesn’t end here. According to recent reports, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor will be seen in the lead role opposite Prabhas. Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in for the project and will begin work after the release of her upcoming film Stree 2.
Let us tell you that Shraddha had earlier worked with Prabhas in Saaho in 2019. The Baahubali star made his Bollywood debut with this film directed by Sujeeth. Saaho received a lot of appreciation from the audience and did well at the box office.
Interestingly, speculations about the lead actress opposite Prabhas in his upcoming film Fauji are not new. A report in July 2024 stated that Pakistani actress Sajal Ali was being considered for the role in the film.
Earlier, during an event with students at NIT Warangal, Hanu Raghavapudi had revealed some interesting details about his next project with Prabhas. The filmmaker had revealed that the film, which is currently under production, will be a period action drama that will explore an alternate angle of history.
Talking about the work front, Prabhas has recently achieved huge success globally with Nag Ashwin’s film Kalki 2898 AD. With its brilliant star cast, the film has made the right place in the hearts of the audience.
Apart from this, the actor recently announced his upcoming film The Raja Saab, a romantic horror-comedy film directed by Maruthi. The film will hit the theatres by April 2025.
