In another interview, Carrey mentioned that making any sequel requires a great concept. According to him, even if he wants to retire, a great idea or partnership will change his mind.
Carrey previously told ComicBook.com, “Oh my God, you know, it has to be the right idea. If somebody has the right idea, I think. It’s not really about the money. I’m not about the money. Just kidding about. But you can never be sure about these things.”
“I said I’d like to retire, but I think I was talking more about power resting. Because as soon as a good idea comes your way, or a group of people you really enjoy working with, If I enjoy it, it just happens—things tend to change,” he adds.
